She suggested getting 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day by including them at all meals, not just dinner, and in snacks as well.
Some other tips Anita gave included:
– Focusing on making fruits and vegetables 80% of the plate and protein only a quarter of the plate
– Using frozen or canned vegetables as easy options
– Including vegetables in breakfast foods like omelets
– Choosing nutrient-dense snacks like hummus with veggies, cottage cheese and fruit, or veggie chips
– Being mindful of alcohol intake and choosing lower calorie options like wine spritzers when possible
